What is Coaching?

Specialist coaching for Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism and related conditions.

We are the only team of Specialist Coaches with relevant qualifications and first hand personal experience of living with Autism/ADHD and related conditions providing support in the Hertfordshire area.

We provide you with a confidential and professional service, with a healthy dose of parental experience thrown in. We are non-judgmental, supportive and adaptable, we want the plans and strategies to work for you and your situation. If something doesn’t work then we’ll try again.

In a nutshell – coaching moves you from where you are now to where you want to be.

Making a Positive Difference?

Our specialist coaches work with parents/carers of children and young people (CYP) up to age 25, to support their family, understand everyone’s individual needs and find ways to improve family communication and family dynamics:

  • How to support attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity
  • Strategies for Executive Function skills such as procrastination, planning, prioritisation, organisation, time management and emotional regulation
  • How to support sensory needs
  • How to manage anger and / or anxiety
  • How to boost self-esteem
  • How to promote self-care and build the child/young person’s skills towards independence
  • How to maximise the full potential of the child/young person

How does it work?

Who is Specialist Coaching for?
  • Our Specialist Coaches work with parents and carers of children and young people up to age 25, providing you with the knowledge and skills to support your child and improve family life. Our approach is to empower you to make a difference. We do not work with your children directly but can point you in the direction of further help.
Getting a referral
  • Parents and carers can self-refer as private clients and pay for the sessions themselves. A report will not be issued
  • Parents and carers can be referred by a professional involved in their child or family’s care. This is often done by the child’s school or a family support worker who will also seek appropriate funding to cover the sessions. A report will be issued

Initial Coaching Session

  • A one hour assessment session with your Specialist Coach can be arranged to assess and discuss the specific needs and difficulties your family is experiencing

  • Each coaching session is unique and tailored to your specific needs
  • The Coach will use tried and tested skills and strategies but tailor them to take your individual situation into account
  • Coaching would normally run for an average of 6-8 sessions but this varies depending on specific needs and situations
  • No diagnosis or GP referral is required
