We currently offer coaching sessions either online via Zoom or by phone. One of our Autism/ADHD Specialist Coaches will work with you on a weekly basis to help support you improve your family life. All of our coaches have relevant qualifications and first-hand personal experience of living with these conditions.
What is Coaching?
Specialist coaching for Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism and related conditions.
We are the only team of Specialist Coaches with relevant qualifications and first hand personal experience of living with Autism/ADHD and related conditions providing support in the Hertfordshire area.
We provide you with a confidential and professional service, with a healthy dose of parental experience thrown in. We are non-judgmental, supportive and adaptable, we want the plans and strategies to work for you and your situation. If something doesn’t work then we’ll try again.
In a nutshell – coaching moves you from where you are now to where you want to be.
Making a Positive Difference?
Our specialist coaches work with parents/carers of children and young people (CYP) up to age 25, to support their family, understand everyone’s individual needs and find ways to improve family communication and family dynamics:
How to support attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity
Strategies for Executive Function skills such as procrastination, planning, prioritisation, organisation, time management and emotional regulation
How to support sensory needs
How to manage anger and / or anxiety
How to boost self-esteem
How to promote self-care and build the child/young person’s skills towards independence
How to maximise the full potential of the child/young person
How does it work?
Who is Specialist Coaching for?
Our Specialist Coaches work with parents and carers of children and young people up to age 18, providing you with the knowledge and skills to support your child and improve family life. Our approach is to empower you to make a difference. We do not work with your children directly but can point you in the direction of further help.
Getting a referral
Parents and carers can self-refer as private clients and pay for the sessions themselves. A report will not be issued
Parents and carers can be referred by a professional involved in their child or family’s care. This is often done by the child’s school or a family support worker who will also seek appropriate funding to cover the sessions. A report will be issued
Initial Coaching Session
A one hour assessment session with your Specialist Coach can be arranged to assess and discuss the specific needs and difficulties your family is experiencing
Specialist Coaching
Each session lasts for one hour and will include a plan to be implemented during the following week
Each coaching session is unique and tailored to your specific needs
The Coach will use tried and tested skills and strategies but tailor them to take your individual situation into account
Coaching would normally run for an average of 6-8 sessions but this varies depending on specific needs and situations
No diagnosis or GP referral is required
With your written permission we can contact school for information or can work with teachers or other professionals
