Throughout January we'll be giving you some tips that will hopefully make getting through January, and the rest of the winter, easier. The winter months can really take a toll, especially as the novelty of the festive season fades and the cold drags on. It's easy to feel like we should be hustling to "start fresh" with the new year, but sometimes the best thing we can do is to give ourselves a bit of space and grace. The pressure to keep up with resolutions or productivity goals can be overwhelming when we’re already running on empty.Taking time to reflect on what we really need - whether it’s rest, comfort, or simply giving ourselves permission to slow down - can be just as valuable as trying to push forward with new ambitions. ... In January 2025, Services for Young People will be launching four new Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) projects across Hertfordshire, specifically in Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Waltham Cross and Stevenage. The projects will provide young people with enriching opportunities to develop new skills, gain valuable experience and contribute positively to their communities through volunteering. The new SfYP DofE projects will be delivered by Youth Workers and are specifically for young people who would be less likely to access DofE through traditional routes: those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), young people missing from education, home educated young people, and young people being supported by a social worker. By creating an inclusive and supportive environment, the projects will ensure that all participants can benefit from the DofE experience, regardless of their background or abilities. This approach not only supports young people’s personal growth but also promotes diversity and inclusion within the community. If you are interested, please visit the SfYP offer page and complete the referral form using the link below.www.servicesforyoungpeople.org/about-services-for-young-people/sfyp-offer/ ...
