Stories from our Community
From a small support group in a hall in Potters bar in 1996 to a countywide network of support for parents and carers of neurodivergent people ADD-vance now supports thousands of families each year. Below are just some of the stories of families that we have supported or people that have made ADD-vance what it is today.
Leigh-Anne's story
“It feels like my tribe. There’s no judgment, and you always come away feeling uplifted with clear steps on what to do next.”
Kelly's story
“ADD-vance was my biggest support then and still is. They are a lifeline.”
Anne's story
30 years ago Anne set up ADD-vance after her son received a diagnosis and she had nowhere to turn.
Mel's story
“They say no child is born with a manual, but it felt like someone had finally given me a rulebook to understand what my daughter was thinking and how to respond.”
Sam's story
“Friends and family don’t always understand what we’re going through, but we will listen, share experiences, and lighten the load.”
Karen's story
“ADD-vance gave me the confidence to support my children in the ways they needed, not the ways society told me I should.”
Louise's story
“I just wanted to say that about 8 years ago you helped our family. You were a real turning point from a really low point. We took everything you gave us to help our son. He is flying now. I would say a big part of that is down to ADD-vance.”
The people above have been kind enough to share how ADD-vance has impacted their lives. If you would like to share your story, please give us a call on 01727 833 963 or email marketing@add-vance.org
